You are entitled to not celebrate Christmas this year. 

You are also entitled to not buy Christmas gifts, make Christmas turkey, Christmas ham, le Reveillon, Christmas fish or Christmas pudding.

You don't even have to bake cookies, platzchen, babka, Pavlova or attend a Christmas Church Ceremony. At all.

Yes your mum might get mad, your children disappointed or your partner might not talk to you for a few days. Your sisters, brothers or friends might find you a wee bit odd.

You still don't have to celebrate Christmas.

You don't have to put the Christmas curtains up nor send out 1 billion Christmas cards to people you hardly talk to anymore.

This year you don’t have to buy the kids a new smart phone, Play Station or an ipad. You don’t even have to by them Bratz, Barbie, lego or get your dog a squeezy toy.

Even more, you don’t have to give your family Christmas sweets, make Christmas sweets or buy Christmas sweets. You don't even have to eat them.

And (this one is such a taboo) you don’t even have to give money to charity this year.

You are entitled to not do anything at all this Christmas.

Instead stop the stress and take Christmas Control. Stop following the wide stream which brings you to Christmas fatigue-land. Pull back and think about the musts. Are they musts indeed or simply non-questioning maybes?

What would happen if you cut down on a few things and celebrated Christmas anyhow? Would the world stop? Would you even ruin someone’s Christmas? Probably not. And if that someone expects you to cover your house in Christmas lights. Simply don't.

Take a moment to think about what Christmas really means to you. What is your dream? Big or small. Are you living your Christmas dream or are you drowning in it?

Take time out. Set some new habits this year. Some soulful, meaningful and wonderful habits like Christmas meditation, Christmas in bed or why not Christmas with the homeless in the street. 

I will take a Christmas walk this year.

Make sure your Christmas glow like a star in the sky.
